Ummm, what do you say

In my Nylons post I got a comment from "Pantyhose 45". This is the person's info:

"I have a major pantyhose fetish. I love seeing women in pantyhose. I love talking about pantyhose. I think they are fascinating.I like hearing what people have to say about them. I would like to find women who really enjoy wearing pantyhose, and would love to talk about them with you, Or just let me know what you think of them and what brands and colors you like."

I don't think I am one of these people.

Micro

Monday morning I went to make my instant oatmeal when I saw sparks and heard terrible noises coming out of the microwave. I quickly shut it off and put a "Do Not Use" sign over it. We overed a new one and it should be in today. This past week has taught me a lot about how I really love the microwave. I have heard that people can heat up their food in the oven but that is crazy talk. It takes so long that you might as well just cook a whole new meal.

I don't think I would have made it in the olden days.

Songs

It is so funny how you can listen to a song on the radio and it instantly makes you think of a memory. For instance when I think of the following songs I get these immediate visuals:

"The Boy is Mine" by Brandy and Monica
Memory: My collegemate and I in seperate showers singing back and forth to this song .. can't remember if I was Brandy or Monica though.

"The Thong Song" by Sisqo
Memory: Spring Break junior year of college in the bahama's .. enough said

"Hero" by Enrique Iglesias
Memory: Dating a guy from Providence College whose nickname became Squash

"Picture" by Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow
Memory: My old job at Butler Hospital

"I Love A Rainy Night" by Eddie Rabbit
Memory: Childhood trips in the car with my family.

"At Last" by Etta James
Memory: Kim's Wedding

"Making Memories of us" by Keith Urban
Memory: One of the first songs that hubby and I danced too. It became our song and was our first dance song as husband and wife.

And the song that started this whole post
"Isn't She Lovely" by Stevie Wonder
Memory: The scrubs episode when Jordan is pregnant for the second time and Carla has post-partum depression.

Say No to Nylons

I hate nylons. I hardly ever wear them because they are such a pain to get on and then when I finally get them in the right place I usually end up getting a run in them. It is just never a good situation. Well this past Monday I had to meet with the Board of my agency, they rotate the Directors in to talk about what we are doing. I needed and wanted to dress up and since I haven't worn a dress since summer time I figured I would try.

I bought new nylons and even bought a size larger think it would help. I started putting the nylons on with my right foot and they were just sliding on .. I was excited. This larger pair was so much better, or so I thought. When I started to put the nylons on my left leg I had the opposite effect. It was so tight and cutting off circulation and I hadn't even hit my knee yet .. I could only imagine what it would feel like on my big thighs.

I don't get it. So I pulled off the nylons, stretched them out again and started over. Again my right leg was fine but my left leg was super tight. What the hell. Ok, my legs might not be the exact same size but my left leg is definetely NOT 20 pounds heavier. By now I am working up a sweat as I begin the battle of nylons versus Annie. I refuse to lose. I finally get them up and they aren't great but they will do only to find out that in the battle the nylons got ripped. Seriously!?! Why. There goes $4 bucks down the drain and 20 minutes of my life I will never get back.

Happy Friday

Thank goodness it is Friday. This has been a terrible day already. I had an early presentation to give (8:30am) and the place was 1 1/2 hours away from my home so I had to get up early, wah. Since it snowed last nice I had to clean my car off and then scrape the ice off the windshield which made me late which made me not be able to stop for coffee. People, I brake for coffee. This was so hard. I was in tears as I drove by the coffee shop because I didn't have 2 mins available.

I meet my coworker at our satelitte office, we grab out handouts and the directions and we take off. Um, I thought this place was 15 mins away from our office but it is really 30 mins away. Crap, I am late. I haul ass again and we get there only 10 mins late. There is no parking available so I need to park in the back. I get out of my car and turn to get my presentation items when all of a sudden I am on my back on the ice. OUCH!! I had a little cut on my hand but my elbow really hurts. No time to take care of me I have a presentation to do. We hobble up to the room and I quickly set everything up. I do my presentation and kicked ass if I do say so myself, well other said it too so it's not just me.

After the presentation I was finally able to stop at a coffee shop and I sit here typing sipping my lovely coffee while trying to not let my elbow hit the edge of my desk.

The joy of Fridays!

Birds and The Bees

Why do they call it this? Hubby and I were talking the other day about how when we have kids we are going to have to have the birds and the bees talk. Then of course hubby is like well why do they call it that? I don't know ... even after looking at wikipedia I still don't get it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_birds_and_the_bees

This conversation then led to the fact that we will need to make sure that we tell our kids what their body parts are called. They should know anyway but they should also know so they don't look stupid in front of their friends. When hubby was younger he had overheard the word "ass" but didn't fully know what it meant .. fast forward to him rough housing with his friends and one of his friends gets a knee to the crotch. Ouch, my sweet hubby didn't know any better and he states "Oh no, right in the ass". Haaa Haaa! The poor thing didn't know "ass" meant butt, he thought it was for his crotch. Then again in his defense he was in elementary school.

Lucky

I am a VERY lucky girl!

From Hubby's Blog ... http://productiveonceaday.blogspot.com/2009/02/i-love-my-wife.html

He didn't even do anything wrong.

GAP

I was walking through the mall this past weekend, wearing my fabulous red peacoat. Side note: I love my red jacket, it makes me feel happy. Anyway, I walking by the Tmobile store and one one of the guys, who works there, smiled at me and I was like "Oh god, I don't want a phone" so he says hello and I say "I'm all set" so then he says "Ok, but where did you get that coat from" so of course I smile, cause I love my coat, and say the GAP. He then says "Well you know GAP stands for Get A Phone". Seriously!?!?!?

It did make me laugh though.

Past Weekend

V-day was really nice. It started by me going to the hairdressers. I got some more highlights and a really nice cut. I chopped 2 1/2 inches off and I love it!

Hubby got my some beautiful roses, actually two sets of roses. One dozen red and one dozen pink. The back story for it is that he had booked the red roses to be sent on V-day back around Christmas. He thought of it then so he decided to just book it so he wouldn't forget. Anyway V-day comes and he is nervous because he didn't confirm with the florist and he begins to think what if they don't come. Hubby is smart so he races out to buy some roses just in case. I got home from the hairdresser to find the beautiful pink roses and then later the red roses arrived.

I hope this happens again next year because a girl can never have enough roses!

V-Day

Me

1. Dinner reservations, check

2. Book hotel room, check

3. Sexy lingerie, check

4. Present(s) for Hubby, check

I really do love Valentine's Day. Whether I am with someone or not I have had some great times.

Memory lane:

1. My first Valentines that I spent with a boyfriend was very special .. he sent me a dozen long stem roses to work, which was the local town restaurant. I remember getting my boss to let me wear a red shirt instead of our normal work shirts .. it was a big deal.

2. Another V-day that same guy sent me 40 to 50 print out v-day cards from the computer to my college dorm. The funny part was that in the computer program there was a standard name so on one of the cards he forgot and I got a V-day card for Sarah.

3. One college year a bunch of us single girls went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner and drinks. It was SO much fun!

4. Another year as a single girl I remember a few of us wearing black shirts on V-day but wearing our sexy lingerie underneath.

5. One V-day with a guy that is no longer in the picture I pulled out the thigh highs and he asked me for a "foot job". Weird ... needless to say we didn't last. I knew it was over when he gave me an art book as a V-day present .. um hello .. V-day is about flowers and chocolate.

6. Going out to eat on V-day is fun but one V-day hubby and I stayed in. I made a really nice steak dinner and had candles everyone. It was very romantic.

This year should top all the memories though because this is the first Valentine's Day as a married couple.

Hope everyone has a happy V-day or as a Singles Awareness Day!

To work or not to work

I am probably the only one but if they asked people to volunteer to be laid off I think I would be the first person to sign up. Collecting unemployment sounds SO wonderful right now. Oye, I need help.

Still Learning

Just when I think I know everything about my husband he goes and surprises me. Apparently when my husband gets bored at meetings he doodles ... I think it is precious .. plus I can only draw stick people too.

He's Just Not That Into You

I read the book and found it helpful, I even let some of my friends borrow the book and read it, and I am sure they found it helpful. It is fine for us to figure out that someone is just not that into you but it is never acceptable for anyone to come out and say "I guess I'm just not that into you"

Let me back up, so the post about meeting up with an ex ... my friend KB had her boyfriend of 3 months go meet up with his ex g/f of 6 years. The ex g/f had broke up with him and actually started dating someone pretty quickly after that so you can only imagine all the hurt he was feeling. After 9 months of grieving for his old relationship he started dating my friend KB and they were inseparable. Both had gotten out of long term relationships, they were healing but also falling for each other. Then of course out of the blue his ex wants to meet and he says yes. What followed after was not good, things became rocky between him and KB and they ended up breaking up. He says he needed space to think things out.

This past week they were talking on Im and he says straight out "I guess I am not that into you" .. seriously .. what would possess anyone to say that. Talk about hurting someone's feelings big time.

Advice: Guys, it is NEVER cool to say "I'm just not into you" ... don't be a douche because you can.

Why husbands don't make dinner

Me: What do you want for dinner?

Hubby: Pizza, grilled cheese, or lots of ketchup?

Me: Ketchup, no we can't.

Hubby: Why not.

Me: Ketchup is not dinner.

Hubby: It is if you have enough.

Fun Facts

Just a few little things that brighten my day:

1. Snooze!! I love hitting the snooze button on my alarm clock. I usually set my alarm 15-20 mins early just so I can hit snooze.
2. When I am approaching a traffic light and the light turns green before I have to hit my brakes .. always makes me smile.
3. My cat, The Baby. She is not a lap cat but every now and then when I am lying on the couch she will jump on me. It is precious.
4. The automatic starter on my car!! Funny side note .. when we bought the car we didn't know there was a starter in it. Sometimes when I threw the keys in my purse the car would just start up ... weird .. finally we figured what buttons to press to get it to work.
5. Coffee .. the perfect blend with some equal and half & half ... it just makes the day better.
6. Little notes of love from my husband ... whether it is a text, email or phone call it always makes my day better.
7. Quotes that I share with my friends - "Our pets heads are falling off", "If Mike Skidmore asked you to go to the Junior Prom would you go with him", "It was Perry not Berry", "The Rabbit" .. I could keep going
8. Slippers. It is silly but I LOVE slippers .. when I travel I try to always bring them with me.
